Welcome to The Honest Toy. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of thehonesttoy.com and any services you book with us. By booking a service or submitting a form on our site, you agree to these Terms.
Our Services
The Honest Toy LLC provides toy and gift consulting services for parents and gift-givers, including:
- Registry reviews
- Gift idea reviews
- Custom recommendation packs
- Live consultation calls
Service details, pricing, and turnaround times are listed on our website and may be updated from time to time.
No Guarantees
Every child is different. Our recommendations are based on experience, research, and the information you provide to us — they are not a guarantee that any specific toy will work well for your child. We do our best to give an honest, informed read, but outcomes will vary from child to child.
We are also not responsible for changes in product pricing or availability after we send our recommendations. We may include links to specific products for your convenience, but prices, stock, and product details can change at any time and are outside our control.
Editorial Independence
No brand pays us for placement in our recommendations. If a company sends us a product to try, that does not obligate us to recommend it — we only include what we would genuinely suggest to a client.
Payment
Payment is required at the time of booking or form submission, depending on the service. All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Prices are listed in USD and are subject to change; the price in effect at the time of your booking is the price you'll be charged.
Turnaround Times
We aim to deliver written reviews and recommendations within the timeframes listed for each service (typically 24 hours after form submission or after a consultation call). These timeframes are estimates, not guarantees — we'll communicate with you directly if a delay is expected.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule a consultation call, please do so at least 24 hours in advance through your Calendly confirmation — you're welcome to rebook another time at no extra charge.
If you don't show up for a scheduled call, we'll wait 15 minutes before ending the call. No-shows forfeit 50% of the session fee.
Rework Policy
If you're not satisfied with your recommendations or review, let us know and we'll rework it and send an updated version within 24 hours. This applies in place of a refund — given the personalized nature of our work, we're committed to making it right rather than simply refunding, though we'll always work with you in good faith.
Intended Use of Recommendations
Our recommendations are intended as general guidance for your own personal or family use. They are not a substitute for your own judgment, and you're always the final decision-maker on what you purchase for your child.
Intellectual Property
The content on thehonesttoy.com, including our written reviews, recommendations, and site content, is owned by The Honest Toy LLC and may not be reproduced or redistributed without permission.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Honest Toy LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services or reliance on our recommendations, including but not limited to product dissatisfaction, changes in pricing, or product availability.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of our services after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
